Diligence was approached by a major global luxury brand to investigate the appearance of fake goods on various auction websites. These products were a very impressive clone of the real merchandise and were causing severe problems to retailers, who were being mislead by unwitting consumers returning, what they believed to be, real merchandise.
Diligence was able, following a lengthy investigation, to identify the source of the fake goods as well as the wholesalers and re-sellers. Diligence worked with law enforcement officials to take down certain websites, to encourage the disbarment of certain re-sellers from popular auction sites, and to provide evidence that assisted in the arrest of both wholesalers and counterfeit producers.
